About Me

I am a third-year pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Data Science, a Bachelor of Arts in Theater (Design Concentration), and a Minor in Language and Speech Technologies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. My career interests are in the fields of creative computing and visual storytelling since I believe that community data can be transformed into compelling narratives and visually engaging stories that have the power to inform and inspire audiences.

I am currently interning with Savie Health as a data analysis and marketing intern, and I have previously interned with the San Francisco District Attorney's Office as a Sentincing Community Initiatives Data Fellow. I am also the Data Editor of UCSB's independent student newspaper: the Daily Nexus, the lead Undergraduate Learning Assistant for Computer Science 5A: Introduction to Data Science 1 with Large Language Models, and a research assistant with the Computational Psycholinguistics of Listening and Speaking Lab under the direction of Professor Simon Todd. Furthermore, I work as a stage manager, lead technician/production supervisor, lighting designer, and projection designer for UCSB Theater and Dance and Santa Barbara Dance Theater.

Throughout the course of my time at UCSB, I have won 1st Place in the state of California for Best Infographic at the California College Media Awards, 2nd Place at UCSB's Data Science Project Showcase for an application that translates slang text to standard English, and Honorable Mention at UCLA's DataFest for Best Visualization of data from 850,000 American Bar Association Free Legal Answers records. I recently mentored two Daily Nexus writers to win 2nd Place in the state of California for Best Interactive Graphic at the California College Media Awards. I am familiar with the following software — After Effects, ArcGIS, Blender, Canva, D3.js, Excel, Fusion 360 (CAD), HTML/JavaScript/CSS (I coded this website using these!), InDesign, LaTeX, Microsoft Office, p5.js, Photoshop, Python, QLab, R, Rhino, SQL, Tableau, Three.js, TouchDesigner, Vectorworks (CAD), and Unity — and I am constantly learning new tools.

In my free time, I love writing poetry, composing songs, cooking, and running!
