After spending a year at the Daily Nexus and witnessing the need to increase engagement with both our print and digital editions, I founded the Games section of the Nexus to create an interactive entry point for readers and bring playfulness into our coverage. I built crossword puzzles in JavaScript and published them both digitally and in print as weekly features tied to campus life and our editorial calendar. To grow Games further and expand the types of games offered, I hired the Games Developer/Editor and project managed the creation of the Daily Nexus Games website—one of the first full-fledged collegiate newspaper platforms dedicated to original, student-built games.

Since launching Games, our puzzles have become one of the most consistently opened digital features each week, driving sustained reader growth across our website and newsletter. The new platform also broadened the paper's reach to students who rarely engaged with traditional reporting, creating an audience that returns specifically for our interactive projects.
